Default 51 Plate Toyota Celica 1.8l 16 Valve - My car is leaking PS fluid i followed the pipes from the...

...resevour and? found that the pipes which lead backwards towards the driver and down were dry, the pipes which lead forwards (towards front bumper) appear to go behind some metal and other obsticles, i switched the car on after topping up the Power Steering fluid and locked the wheel a couple of times to give some pressure to get it to leak out. I noticed there was a stream coming from the front and sliding along the splash guard. Does anyone know what is at the front where the PS pipes go? is it to the wheels? the Pump? do they split at the front and go to wheels? any information about whats down there would be a great help as I am going to take the bumper and headlights out on saturday to try and have a look around. Thanks

The pipes going to the front of the car lead to a cooler in front of the radiator - actually, it's usually just a u-shaped piece of steel pipe that the p/s fluid is pumped through to cool it down.

Either the pipe has corroded and is leaking, or the joints between the flexible and steel pipes are loose.

This is the sort of thing you should see behind the grille:
