From the reviews I read on Edmunds Id say some people like them but more people say they have problems. They seem to get a lot of mileage out of them but then again some people say they only have 70,000 miles on it and is having problems. Just copy the link I post below and read what people have to say.

got a specific year in mind?

the only issues i know of are on the gt-s models that employ the 2ZZ engine. while it is an outright screamer, the power band is very close to red line. and that engine has an inherent oil pump issue at those rpms. has issues supplying oil to the top end. there are fixes for that. but they are pricey.

other than that, don't see a lot of issues with those. most ppl like them.

i don't see where any answers here deserve a thumbs down. all valid opinions count.

Alan supplying the Edmonds link is a good reference. thumbs up bro!

Thumbs to Holey, but must add that the 1ZZ used in the 2000 and newer Celica GT models had a tendency to burn oil- most notably 2000-2002 model years (By 2003YToyota had solved the issue). Even those cases aren't that frequent. Pre 2000 models are darn near bulletproof all the way back to their beginnings in 1970. They always been known as a hard car to kill
