Default How often should I change my oil on my toyota corolla LE 2001?

It's a toyota corolla le 2001 with 120025 miles.

I changed the oil yesterday at 119,974 miles. I had them use conventional oil chevron 5w30 and changed it's air filter.

And when I have school I drive about 444 miles a week! I know quite a commuter.

This is my first car, and being a girl with no help on cars is difficult . So I just need some correct info on what I should do if I want my car to last, with my driving habits.

I went to Midas for an oil change and they recommend changing the oil at 122, 974 miles. But I think that's a little soon ? I've heard about doing it at 5k

Should I be using high mileage next time? Synthetic? The difference? Help please !

most cars it's every 5,000 miles. Look in the owner's manual, that is the best authority or ask someone at Toyota. Midas wants you to get more frequent oil changes because that gives them more money so they recommend 3,000 miles.

Synthetic does last longer. Otherwise 3,000. 5.000 would be max. When I went 5,000 like the manual said ... it would always be like a quart low.

Every 2-3000 miles depending on driving load conditions with regular oil, 5K with 100% synthetic.

conventional oil is 3000 miles or 3 months generally. keep eye on level cars with over 75000 miles may use a little oil or they start to develop leaks.

With no leaks when it is 1 quart low, or is a darkish brown. You should not let it get black. Or twice a year. if it sets a lot. Go to heavy weight in summer.

Being a girl is not excuse 5K - 7K should be fine high mileage so is conv, full synthetic and synthetic blend are meant for higher performance engines or newer cars. good luck. remember to check your cars oil levels often after a short drive for accurate measurements pull, wipe, dip, and read.
