Default Can a 2009 Toyota corolla switch to synthetic oil?

I bought a car in December with 89,000 miles. I am going to do my first service on it and was wondering if it can be switched to synthetic oil when I have it serviced. I know that they will or can tell me I'm just wanting to know ahead if or if not.

And I do drive a lot mostly on freeways. I barely had the car about 3 months and put 5,000 miles on it.

Thanks

here is the deal with synthetic oils if you have slight leaks it will find them as it is lighter and will add to the leaks but it is good oil you can use if you have no leaks at all

yes switch it over. My car is a corolla has 150,000miles before i switched it over. I use Mobile 1 full synthetic oil with a fram ulta oil filter. The filter is good for 15,000 miles. I drive 6K miles before i change the oil and filter. It has 200,000 miles on it now and runs like it's brand new. I drive about 18,000 miles a year so that it only 3 oil changes.

Well, the car won't switch by itself but you can have it switched! :-)

FYI, they have to flush the old oil out and clean up before adding the synthetic oil. Also, synthetic oil is more expensive and the cost of the oil changes will go up. I change mine every 5K miles.

There are synthetic blends which are a bit less costly. Just info.
