yes. *base* timing is set via the distributor. but don't mess with it. not the issue. it won't ever change unless you turn it or the timing belt is bad. vacuum leaks will have an influence. cause the timing to search if one hits it with a timing light. anti knock sensor is also in play.































if you adjust the distributor for trouble shooting purposes, it will skew further throuble shooting. adjusting things to a faulty condition is never good.































reputable ASE shop or the dealer is best.
