Default Toyota tacoma burning smell?

Iv noticed kinda a burning smell only at the back of the truck when you get out . I mean I think it's the parking brake but it's never on going down the road . I'm thinking maybe it's partially stuck or something . It can only be smelled from the rear end of the truck .

Default

It can still be the parking brake dragging. Sometimes the linkage doesn't retract all the way, even when the brake is released.

After driving, put your hand close to (but not on) the center of the rear wheels and see if you can feel heat coming off. If so, check the motion of the parking brake arms attached to the backs of the drum assemblies and the cables connected to them. You may also need to pull the brake drum off and adjust the star wheel between the shoes.

Another possible cause of a burning smell is the spare tire getting too close to the exhaust system. Check the clearance between the exhaust and the spare tire.
