Default Toyota Prius. Carrying trash barrels.?

Will a newer model Prius have enough room to carry trash barrels? In my town we have to take leaves and grass to a compost facility. I have a RAV 4 now which does pretty good. But time for a new car.

Can you fit typical plastic trash barrels in a Prius? Is there enough height in the back? Easy to get them in or not? Barrel height is 24" and 29" and roughly 22" diameter. I don't mind making more trips with fewer barrels but they have to stand up.

Thanks for any help.

The height might be a limitation. I just measured my 2nd-gen and the distance from the cargo floor to the liftgate opening is 26" There's plenty of length and width, especially with the rear seats folded flat.

If you use some shorter, wider containers (similar to recycle bins), they fit nicely.

Also, the Prius has a sub floor in the trunk with a cargo tray underneath it. One thing you can explore is removing the sub floor and cargo tray and setting the barrels right on the spare tire.
