Take it back to the mechanic who did the work, make them diagnose the problem and fix it.

WAS YOUR CYLINDER HEAD examined for STRAIGHTNESS, and did your tech use NEW HEAD BOLTS in this engine and ONLY GENUINE TOYOTA PARTS as well??? You CANNOT RE-USE old head bolts as they have ALREADY S T R E T C H E D OUT! TOYOTA coolant is RED, and NOT ORANGE or GREEN and NOT PRESTONE EITHER! Check your COOLING FAN SWITCH and RELAY and FUSE! REPLACE THE SWITCH as a matter of COURSE when you service the COOLING SYSTEM< like you already DID! GOOD LUCK!! IF COOLANT LEVEL is TOO LOW< the COOLING FAN SWITCH will NOT turn on your COOLING FAN! You can CHECK your cooling fan when you OPEN THE HOOD! LEAVE KEY OFF! Spin the ELECTRIC fan with your FINGERS! WAIT TIL ENGINE is FULLY COOLED DOWN so you do NOT LOSE Your fingers! There are things you can do to PROTECT your old GREAT car from having any ISSUES! USe MOBIL ONE ONLY in 0W-30 grade! Use GENUINE TOYOTA COOLANT Only! AND ASK YOUR TECH if he used NEW HEAD BOLTS and GENUINE TOYOTA PARTS in this thing! Did he use either BOSCH or DENSO iridium plugs, or just AUTO STORE CHEAPOS??? POWER WASH YOUR ENGINE with gunk orange TO REMOVE years of road salt and goo and grime and grunge FROM ENGINE BAY! Your engine and trans metals CAN THEN breathe again easily! GOOD LUCK!!
