Default Is buying a new Toyota Rav4 a bad idea amid the ongoing Toyota crisis?

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to buy a new Toyota Tacoma or Rav4, but I think I am more inclined towards Rav4 AWD. Toyota has been in the news lately when it recalled 6 million vehicles back due to faults related to safety etc, and it includes Toyota Yaris and Rav4.

Do you think it is a good idea to go for a Toyota Rav4 when all these Toyota cars are showing problems? I dont want to end up with a faulty vehicle, please hep me make a sound decision.

Also what do you think about Honda CRV (AWD), would that be a better option than a Rav 4?

Thank you

Well, at least Toyota is taking steps to correct problems from the start, unlike GM which not only has the Key recall, has electric power steering problems the only got a TSB and no recall. To me having the power steering cut off at any time could lead to some pretty bad things like death. 2006 Pontiac G6...and had to fight to have it fixed

As far as the keys are concerned...if the car shutdown on the highway what would be really bad, but think about it, the 'extra keys' would much more likely turn the ignition off when you are making a hard turn, like a left turn across traffic. Seems like that would be one of the worst cases of shutdown there is.
