There are a lot of factors that affect fuel economy and tank range.

It sounds like the amount you drive has increased? Do you drive on highways more now than you used to? The Prius does not get as high of fuel economy on the highway as it does in lower-speed driving. This is probably what's causing the reduction in range.

Fuel economy also varies a lot depending on route, types of roadways, etc.

Also, check your tire air pressure. You can further reduce rolling resistance and improve fuel economy and range by keeping the tire pressure higher than Toyota recommends. Common settings for Prius drivers concerned about fuel economy are 42 psi front/ 40 psi rear or 44 psi front/42 psi rear.

You know I could say my 2006 prius did about the same thing years ago. Yet they are not exactly alike. I put 18 inch enkei rims on mine and it did not change the mpg. Who exactly can determine the answer to the question you asked. Perhaps prius owners need a answer a solution.

That is the "miles to empty" indicator I presume. It adjusts the "miles to empty" estimate based on the fuel economy you have been getting over the last few months. You don't notice it, but the same tracking applies to the fuel indicator. My Ford work truck does a similar thing, moving the estimated miles all over the place as I spend time on 65 mph highway, 75 mph freeway, and 20 mph dirt roads. I have seen as high as over 500 and as low as a bit over 300 miles estimated on a full tank.
