I own a 2005 Corolla S... It's exactly the same except it's 2 years old with 55,000 miles on it... It's a fantastic car... no problems yet and none expected anytime soon... I had a 93 that I kept until 2005 and it had 300,000 + miles on it... the only problem I ever had with the 93 was the power window motors on both front doors gave out and the alternator was replaced twice... once at 130,000 miles and again at 288,000 miles... these cars are built to last... that's why they are a few dollars more than Chevys and Fords... they last longer and get great mileage... I now get roughly 400 miles per tank full with my Corolla S... I drive 100 miles a day round trip and with gas at $3.00 a gallon...it costs me about $36.00 a week

The Corolla is getting redesigned in 2008...if I were you I would wait until then. They should be out within a few months depending on where you are located. I owned a 2004 'Rolla S...power is slightly weaker than other models that compete with it. I upgraded to the XRS for the extra power and ride upgrades, but unfortunately 2005 is the last year they made the XRS. The interior is nice and sporty in the S model. Overall, it's a nice car with great quality. I would choose it any day over a Mazda 6 or Chevy Cobalt or Mitsu Lancer. You won't spend a ton of money maintaining it and you can easily put 150,000 miles plus on it with very minor to no problems at all.
