Default Tow rating for a 1989 toyota 4runner with v6?

Now have a ford f-150 but i have a sneaking suspicion that my old 4 runner had a better tow rating but cant find a number anywhere.

Your GCWR will tell you and it should be on the metal plate in the engine's firewall.

Subtract the vehicle's weight from the GCWR and 70% of it is your (safe) effective towing capacity.

your ford has a max tow capacity of 3600 lbs. THe best i have on Toyota is a '92 4Runner, max is 3500lbs. but 4 runners suck to tow with. I had an F-150 w/a 5.4 v8, it towed just under 10,000 lbs. Heck, it weighed more by itself than either of those two. if you need to tow a lot, i would get a different car.Gmc's Duramax's are perfect in that respect.
